A fitting tribute to a brilliant Dynasty December 3, 2007 Cowboys Fan (UK) Like the '90's Cowboys this book is a class apart. It tells the story of how "America's Team" dominated Football in the early to mid '90's. It starts with Jerry Jones takeover of the Cowboys (a team losing a $1m a day)the firing of the legendry Tom Landry after 26 years, and the hiring of the coaching genius of Jimmy Johnson. The photography is simply stunning, page after page of action shots mixed in with behind the scenes photos. A personal favourite is Darryl Johnson walking exhausted, but elated through the mud at Candlestick Park at the end of the 1992 NFC Championship game. Backing these photos up is a superb written history of how the "Triplets" and the other 50 players came together to ensure that the Cowboys will always be America's team. The story of how Jones & Johnson plotted to build the greatest football team ever is worthy of a novel, and woven into their wheeler dealer trades are fantastic player interviews giving you the inside view (warts and all) as this amazing team was put together. At the end of the book you are left wondering what would have been if free agency hadn't been introduced in 1994/1995. Would it have been 5,6 or even 7 Superbowls rather than just three by the time the '90's had finished? Who knows, but if you grew up watching the '90's Cowboys then you will just love this book. The names roll off the tongue ... Aikman, Smith, Irvin, Harper, Novacheck, Johnson, Lett, Norton Jr, Haley, Sanders et al. To the '90's Cowboys without doubt the greatest team ever!
