This book is very much for beginners, and the style is such that if you have any prior knowledge, you may feel that you are being talked down to. All discussion of maps refers to the USGS maps, so it is not as relevant as it could be to a UK reader, although the exercises are useful, even though the supplied solutions are not annotated as in the best modern text books.
