Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Excellent platform on which to develop   October 30, 2003

This is just what the beginner, like me, needs - a simple explanation of golfing terms plus straight forward advice on how to address the ball, swing the club, the short game, putting, practice, where to play, how to sign a card and the mental game. I'm no natural and will need a great deal of practice to groove my swing. But I'm confident this book will help me establish a handicap and take me to the next level.

5 out of 5 stars An excellent introduction to golf   January 3, 2001

I bought this book for my brother - a recent convert to the golf - back in October, and he reckons the book is the main reason why he is now breaking 90.

Everything in the book is brilliantly explained - Tony Dear is an experienced instruction editor and writer (I remember following his tips in Fore! and, more recently, Today's Golfer) and he has the rare ability to make tricky concepts sound remarkably simple.

If you're looking for a good instruction book, I'd buy this one.
