1 out of 5 stars Shameless exploitation of popular series!   December 21, 2002

After having read this book from cover to cover twice I can only say that it truly is terrible.
I wanted to like it, being a fan of the sport and the original survival handbook, but this is nothing more than a feeble attempt to make some more money from golf fans.
No real lover of the great game could gain much enjoyment from this as the so called 'worst case scenarios' are generally matters that you would NEVER EVER come across, with most of those solutions so far fetched as to make them redundant. For example, how many golfers would actually scale a dangerously high fence to retrieve a ball? Why not just give it up for lost and use a new one?
Only two sections could be of use and while some may say I'm a kill-joy I feel I'm warranted to say that as a true golf fan, there is NOTHING in this book that appeals to me and I can't imagine other serious golfers feeling anything other than exactly the same.

1 out of 5 stars Far from funny   November 13, 2002

I love golf and I enjoyed the original Worst Case Scenario Survival Handbook. I assumed the two would produce a winning combination but I was hopelessly wrong.
This book is nothing but a cash-in and has flogged the successful formula well dry. There is very little of any worth, the only useful sections describing playing out of a stream, or canoning shots off walls.
Most sections are pathetic attempts at humour, which fail miserably in my opinion.
Many will see this as a great little gift for golf fans, but in truth most decent golfers would be appalled.

5 out of 5 stars Top book - Funny golf scenarios and ways to get out of them!   October 17, 2002

This book and all the other books in the range are sheer genius! They manage to take situations that are completely true to life and tell you who to solve them in a funny way! This is completely true to the golf course as well! The book explains scenarios such as stopping runaway golf carts, how to drive with a putter and retrieving golf balls from trees! This book is the ideal golfers companion and makes you a little less stressed when on the course. Even if you don’t play golf this book is great as it will bring a smile to your face guaranteed. An ideal gift for x-mas when the true golfer will still be out on the course! Superb!!
