Horrid!!!!!! August 15, 2008 Chris Larkins 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The reviews of this book were stating things like funny can't put it down blah blah. What a load of ROT! I do not think reading over 200 pages to find out that the guy is dead and she has been ringing his cell phone and emailing him the height of Chick lit and funny!!!!!!!!!! There was absolutely no indication that this book was as depressing as it was from the reviews on the back. As someone who has lost someone very special to them this was NOT the book I wanted to read as light funny entertainment!!! I wouldn't even rate this book as I think it is misleading and throwing a million swear words does not make funny reading! I will not even bother finishing this book either after reading the reviews I have now read. This two was my second attempt to read a Marian Keyes and I will not bother again. I look forward to Fiona Neill bring out a new book or Sophie Kinsella now there are two authors who can entertain!
Absolutely Brillant August 7, 2008 L. Hill (Worcestershire) This Is the first Marian Keyes book I have read. Picked it up at the airport as I left on holiday. What a truly fabulous find, I was totally gripped by the end of the first chapter. What had happened to Anna? Where was Aiden? Could'nt put it down, found myself laughing and crying out loud, much to amusement of my family! Introduce yourself to Marian Keyes and buy this book.
Another great book August 1, 2008 F. Mineard (Scotland) I found this book really hard to put down even though it wasn't as funny as the other Walsh sister stories. I just wish I knew a family like them. They are hilarious! It's obviously a much sadder story and I really felt upset at several times because it all seemed so unfair! But there were a lot of funny parts too and I loved when Anna reminisced about Aiden and her together. I'm sure in time there will be a 'Helen' story so hopefully we'll find out then if she met anyone else.
Marvelous Marian July 25, 2008 Sarah this was the first book by marian keyes i read, and since then have read almost all of her other novels! she is a superbly talented author and deserves great credit for this book. i read this on holiday and had it finished in no time. it made me laugh, cry and cringe in horror. beautifully written with perfect sentiment and touching storyline. as ever i would recommend any marian keyes books to everone. amazing book and a wonderful addition to the walsh story.
Anybody Out There? July 7, 2008 Sam (UK) I found this book to be extraordinary in the sense that the underlying shadow of the story does not raise its head for what seems an excruciatingly long time; and that as a reader you are compelled to keep reading in order to find out exactly where Aiden is. I found this book to be extremely touching and felt that without the humor in which Marian touches on it would be quite a depressing read. There were many moments i let out some tears as the plot progressed, and even a moment where i had to put the book down as i became so emotional. You really get to understand the character of Anna and it really reminds you to appreciate those who are near and dear to you. I would defiantly recommend this as a read, it cannot be put down. I also suggest refraining from reading on public transport, that is unless you do not mind sobbing in-front of the stranger next to you.
