Wonderful June 5, 2008 Zoe A. 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
One of my favourite books. Marian stays faithful to her humorous style, but this book has a depth and personality to it that puts it right there at the top for me. I enjoy Marian Keyes' books, and Anna with her endearing personality and interesting life, combined with the romance she finds in this book topped with the typical and funny Walsh family situations, brought me to laughter, and also tears... For Keyes fans - this book is definitely worth a read.
funny and poignant June 4, 2008 Carrie Sue' Bradshaw (Norfolk, England) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've recently 'discovered' Marian Keyes, and I love the way she switches from comedy to pathos, particularly with this book. There's almost two stories going on here, the main one focusing on Anna herself, and then the amusing subplot of her eccentric family back in Ireland. I found the parts set in New York very easy to relate to, after living there for a brief time, all in all a very satisfying read.
Deals Well with Grief May 31, 2008 S. Gamal-Eldin (UK) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
After the shock loss of a loved one, denial is inevitable, and Marian portrays this brilliantly in the first part of Anybody Out There. By the end of Part One you wanna read the rest of the story to find out what happens, & it is a satisfying ending. Piss - I hope she ended up with Angelo ;-)
Rubbish May 29, 2008 booklover (Ireland) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Having read 'the other side of the story' and thoroughly enjoyed it, I was so disappointed in this book. Having read to page 62 to find out what the accident was(?) i gave up. I though it was very badly written and total and utter rubbish. she flits from one thing to another like a writer on speed, dont waste your money...
The best one yet! May 28, 2008 Mrs. A. Bacon (Gloucestershire, England) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Out of all the Marian Keyes books I read this one has got to be the best!! It was the first of hers I ever read I was gripped from page one! It's an emotional rollercoaster of book that has you wanting to cry and laugh at the sametime. This women is just truly amazing and manages to have me hooked with every book she writes!!!
