Brilliant book January 6, 2008 Cai Martlew (Wales, UK) This book is for lack of a better word. Brilliant. Although I have been playing guitar for a little over two years now I never learned how to read music. Despite being aimed at beginning guitarists I found it a perfect introduction into reading music. However I did not purchase this from amazon, I purchased it from my local guitar shop. The version I purchased contained a DVD aswell as a CD.(which sadly doesn't appear to be available on amazon) The DVD I found indispensable. In short: If you are an already established guitarist looking for an introduction to reading music or you are a beginning (or looking for someone who is beginning) guitarist there is nothing I could more strongly recommend.
Excellent Book for the Late Learners October 24, 1999 21 out of 21 found this review helpful
I always wanted to learn a little Guitar but I never had the chance. Now at 44 I seemed to think that it is too late so it is with mixed feelings that I have ordered this book. However the book is very well presented and the fact that you start playing the first tunes almost immediately - by Lesson 2 - makes you immediately start looking forward to a little daily practise. The CD enclosed with the book is a great help first for learning how to keep the time and then for those tunes which you have never heard or do not know by the title. I would recommend this book to those who want to have a little break in their daily, otherwise busy life, without the hassle of having to go to lessons.
