This recorded lecture presents the attacks of 9/11 in the context of Amercian Imperialism since 1945. Chomsky is his usual erudite self (with the mundane voice suprising for the greatest living professor of linguistics) and presents some fascinating and totally neglected endevours of the U.S.A alongside other terrorist acts which the U.S condemns and shows that they are basically indestiguishable. The U.S.A is shown to be a terrorist state by its own definition and its leaders are in breach of the Geneva convention and are therefore war criminals. Since the U.S.A is undermining the Geneva convention by these breaches they are puting the whole world at great risk of descending into further chaos.
Its another case of powerful states abusing, exploiting, degrading and destroying the weaker ones which is the story since civilisation and politics began; this time the scale is larger than before due to technological advances and huge populations. Elsewhere Chomsky is suprisingly unsuppotive of claims that 9/11 in the U.S and 7/7 in the U.K were orchistrated by the states' respective governemnts as a pretense for war, capitalist colonisation and the removal of civil liberties. He claims that it is an extremely innefficient administration and there would have been leaks of such activity. However there have been countless slips of such facts and with todays wealth of evidence it is beginning to be hard to believe anything else. Anyone who is interested in such facts must see Dave Vonkliests 'IN PLANE SIGHT' and ZIETGIEST THE MOVIE which is available to watch on Youtube.com. Make up your own mind once you have seen the evidence. The educated must pull themselves out of complacency and realise that changes in world power have always been hidden until they are well established and irreversible.
