4 out of 5 stars Great in places but there are better books in the series   August 14, 2005

For souls with an open mind. Although Book 3 is one of the larger volumes in the excellent Conversations With God series, and there are some fascinating ideas explored here, many of the others (Books 1 and 2, Friendship With God, Tomorrow's God) are more satisfying. I write as a big fan of all of the CWG books which have continued to inspire me over the last few years.

The first chapters are, broadly speaking, given over to a summary of some of the basic themes from the first two books. New insights and perspectives gradually enter the picture as the dialogue between Walsch and God develops. For example, at the beginning of chapter 5 they discuss that Jesus is not the only human to have risen from the dead. "Its happening every day, right now, in your hospitals". Other topics include reincarnation in multiple lifetimes across the space-time continuum (Star Trek and science fiction fans will enjoy this), communication with spirits, and highly evolved civilizations. As always with the CWG series, there is a move away from a God who is to be worshipped and feared, and a move towards a God of love with whom we are all one.

Is this really God talking? "Either I am God talking, or this Neale fellow is a pretty bright guy. What's the difference?" (page 112) says it all really!

5 out of 5 stars Open your heart and mind. Find out Who You Are!   November 13, 1998

This is a remarkable book by multiple measurments. What it means to me - is not - can not - be what it will mean to you. If you can open you heart and mind; if you can be willing to trully listen.... you will expand your understanding of life.

1 out of 5 stars Deserves a 10 for humor, but sadly the author is serious!!!   March 2, 1998

That so many dimwits have written outstanding reviews of this book says so much more about the decline of western civilization than thinkers such as Leo Strauss and Eric Voegelin wrote in their entire careers. I'm inclined to recall Nietzsche's aphorism, loosely paraphrased, in which that master remarked that it was interesting when God chose to become an author, he decided to learn Greek, and not to learn it better! The author's questions to God are silly (and that's being polite), but God's grammar is just downright sad. I concur with Nietzsche--God darn well ought to have the "kindness" and "love" for his "flock" to write according to the rules of the language he chooses to write in! Of course, the author tells us God plans further books along these lines, and no doubt with so many dimwits shelling out big bucks for this one, there will be many more to follow, perhaps more than God's plan in this book even imagined! I'm reminded of the "Oh God" movies. I wonder if the author gets plastered and goes driving like that dolt John Denver did (before he managed to die)? Oh, probably not--I forget, God has no "rules" for people, except he doesn't like alcohol, according to this "book." One further note: the book contains this line: "Who said Jesus was perfect?" Uhhh... answer, God: YOU DID! Remember that other book you wrote, that Nietzsche talked about?! What an asinine con man the author is. Come on now, people--surely you are not as stupid as you seem. Why not curl up with a nice copy of Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand, and engage your mind instead of your imbecility?

5 out of 5 stars To Get in touch with Neale   December 3, 1997
3 out of 3 found this review helpful

Conversations with God is an extrordinary book. It not only touches on life but it also touches upon spiritual truths. There are things that the spirit knows regardless of what the human mind wants to tell it. This is one of those books that allows the spirit to take off in the direction it has always known was out there. Conversations with God, like the Celestine Prophesy, is a book that gives a brief summary of how to get in touch with the spiritual side of being. Yet it is not the answer nor does it show how to take on life. Taking on your life is far more than just reading. It is taking on the actions and implimenting those actions into your life. It is taking on the behaviors that go along with those actions. Neale has done a fabulous job at giving an account at how easy it is for anyone to talk to God. There is no single person who has authority to talk to God while the rest of us wait to find out what God has to say. That's what caused monarchies and other such governments. I would recommend this book to anyone who would like to take a first hand look at life from a spiritual point of view. I would however be careful not to fool yourself into thinking that this is the only spiritual experience that is out there. This is a good one. To Neale Donald Walsch I say congradulations. You have put out not only a best seller, you have put out a way that many might get a feel for what it is like to feel from the spiritual side of life. I don't know who reviews this, I would like you to know that when you get this message that I would appreciate it that you would either get it in touch with Neale or give him my e-mail address which is wilksnish@aol.com. There is some information that I know he is looking for. Thank you for the opportunity given to me that I might write a exerpt of the book to give to the rest of the world. To those who have not rated the book a ten, I know why.

1 out of 5 stars NEW AGE MUMBO JUMBO FROM A THIRD RATE PHILOSOPHER   July 21, 1997

Walsch resonates as a third-rate (to be very generous)philosopher to a New Age generation which longs to have someone in the name of God tell it what it wants to hear. Pity those who take him seriously.
