Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars read this book!!   April 24, 2001
A particularly warm and nostalgic look at the first voyage of Tom Chatto, an apprentice in Queen Victoia's Merchant Navy. The overwhelming depth to each and every character is this books most remarkable feature. A terrific and memorable adventure told with a passion and understanding by Phillip McCutchan. So far my all time favorite book. If the captains remedy for sea sickness does not endear you to Toms plight, and maybe even raise a smile then there is no hope for you. Read this book!!!!
