Delish June 18, 2008 f100 (yorkshire) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Got bored on atkins.all too eggy somehow. This is different. The recipies are delicious. I have cooked 22 of them in the last month and they are lovely. The whole family has enjoyed them and it has got me enthusiastic and cooking again. The almond cake is great, onion bhajias the best i ever made and the thai meatballs are fab. I feel terrific and not deprived at all, on the contrary I feel I am eating better than ever before. the main problem is deciding what to cook next,(chilli bake I think!).

An inspiration, real, proper food using sensible stuff not odd things which can never be found. Buy it with the Idiot Proof Diet Book (pink bible ) and join the forum if you want to change your lives. This is a must have!

This book not only introduces you to a new way of eating, it is a joy to make the dishes, everthing I have made has been great, so many variations that I have never thought of, something for everyone.

Now I'm no domestic goddess but maybe I could become one. I bought this book along with the diet book Pig To Twig and boy am i glad I did ! I planned meals that went with the diet and there is such tasty variety i have not strayed once. The Butter Chicken is so easy and to die for. The Sausage Muffins are a great start to the day and so tasty. All the recipes are so easy to follow and once you've got the ingredients off you go.
Very clever book! February 18, 2008 Lynne Baker (Kingsclere, Hampshire, UK) 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
I'm a recent convert to the low carb lifestyle having followed Whale Watchers [sic] on a number of occasions and owning a great many WW cookbooks. Neris and India suggest that in order to lose weight and keep it off we have to address the emotional issues that surround our eating habits. We must learn that we are neither the kitchen bin nor a dog: we should not fill ourselves with rubbish nor treat ourselves with food. This cookbook supports that view in that it is a delight to own! It is beautifully illustrated, printed on high quality paper, and lays flat when you open it. The recipes are easy to follow and produce delicious results. I would suggest that if you are a complete novice to cooking you might find the lack of precise instruction on what type of receptacle to use (a la Delia) a little unnerving. That's where the invaluable forum comes in jolly handy! A perfect adjunct to the Diet book, not a replacement for it.
