Re-make/Re-model: Becoming "Roxy Music"
This is an excellent book, but it's worth pointing out that this is the paperback edition of 'Remake/Remodel' which came out last year in hardback. The book has been retitled, presumably to make it appear to be a biography of Roxy Music. It isn't. The narrative ends before the release of the band's first record. Instead it's about Bryan Ferry, Brian Eno and Andy Mackay growing up and attending art school, and about the cultures of pop art, music and fashion as the influenced them in the 50s and 60s. I found it fascinating, albeit lacking any critical edge, but I don't want people to be misled by the title, cover and marketing into believing this is about Roxy Music's success - their albums, tours etc. That would be another book.
