Awesome book worth every penny! July 1, 2008 Ms. K. Lintott (Lincoln) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Being new to bag making but not to nearly every other type of craft, I couldn't wait to see what this book had to offer. I particularly wanted a vintage spin on what I made and hit pay dirt first time out of the gate with this gem of a book! Flicking through the pages outside the post office (that's how much I couldn't wait) it had me heading for the fabric shop at top speed. Not only is it well laid out and easy to follow but I found myself mentally designing my own versions and the colour pallets I would use which bored the pants off the family!!!! The only problem is now I don't know which one to start with!!!! GET IT!
Excellent !!!!!!!!!! December 31, 2007 Mrs. G. Hobbs (uk) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
A wonderful book. I have been on some handbag making courses but this book gave me more information than any of those. Gives good basic advise on materials and construction including backings and stiffenings which I found really useful. The designs are to die for and all patterns included which makes this book a snip at the price. I would highly recommend to all levals of skill and will certianly be looking for any other books by this author.

Just Wonderful! March 21, 2006 Patricia (Hertfordshire UK) 32 out of 32 found this review helpful
I have just given this book to a needleworking friend. It was a joy to hear her comments as she looked through each page. She found the clarity of instructions and the patterns quite superb. There were gasps of delight from her as each page revealed yet another lovely vintage bag all simple in design but all having an elegance appropriate to the period.I am so thrilled with the book I have immediately ordered it for my needleworking daughter!
An absolute bargain November 29, 2005 F. Pook (Lancashire, England) 48 out of 48 found this review helpful
I love this book. I have only made one of the bags so far, but I have had 2 people already ask if I will make them one, they look so good. The instructions are easy to follow and with patterns to make 20 different bags even if you only make a couple then you have covered the cost of a couple of dressmaking style patterns. It is easy to adapt the bags to your own style and embellishments.
