Really, is this the best we can do? July 21, 2004 Peter R. Flynn 0 out of 19 found this review helpful
Sure, these type of people (Horrid Henry) are on the planet, but think about it, glorify them? - how was your childhood experience?, what about your own child's childhood experience? fancy your generation making the same mistakes again? - I agree everyone should have a mouthpiece, and Francesca is using hers, however, the rest of us need to be informed about the content before making such a purchase. Remember, these types of purchaces are the same as voting in a political party. Think about it. Big brother is watching, buy this and even more condescending, mean, white-trailer-trash material will follow. Let us not degrade ourselves.
Sidesplittingly funny September 29, 2000 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
This was a very funny book where Horrid Henry gets up to his usual tricks. The best story is Horrid Henry minds his manners. His manners made me laugh and Mum thought it was very funny too.
an excellent book for reluctant readers (especially boys!) April 10, 2000 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
As a teacher of 8 yr olds, it's great to get a series of books my class love. They go mad for Horrid Henry. "Don't be Horrid Henry!" they chorus at appropriate moments. They torment me to lend them the books so they can read them on their own. Need I say more? Henry is indeed horrid, but he's also funny and not as tough as he likes to make out. Highly recommended, espsecially to read aloud.
