Book lovely, arrangements awful December 27, 2007 Melissaria (UK) Agree entirely with the above reviewer. The book is lovely, but the arrangements and performance are just too much like Mariah Carey performed on a karaoke night. Too much pop-style swooping, embellishing and improvising with the timing means that you can't actually sing-along to the sing-along CD. Which makes it all a bit pointless - you'd be better off with a traditional recording or minus-one tracks. Nice try though.
Nice book, shame about the music December 14, 2007 P. Bowman (UK) First off, this is a good looking book, with good quality chunky pages and bright fun pictures, with the words to a number of well-known Christmas Carols. Now, maybe I'm not enough into 'baby music' (my daughter is 8 months and only has one other such recording), but I hoped for a good clear recording of the music that we could sing along with to her at first, then in future years she could sing along to. However, most of the songs are 'jazzed up', especially messing about with the timing, and many are added to. Some of them are quite fun as jazzed-up perfomances (We three kings with a middle-eastern vibe, for example), but not for learning the carols. Probably best to leave the CD in the book cover and enjoy the rest of the book.
