Customer Reviews:
A great person remembered with sensitivity November 7, 2004 M.R. Buckner This short biography covers the career of Martin Luther King Jnr through the events that he is most famously connected with. This easy reader does not adopt an ingratiating or awestruck tone, rather, it presents the man and his human weaknesses in an objective and perceptive manner. For those who want the bare details of both his public triumphs and personal troubles, this book will explore why this man made world history. As the book aptly admits, many faceless and nameless persons have given their lives and energy to the civil rights movement, but only a few will be remembered for their eloquence and charisma. Martin Luther King Jnr remains the figurehead of the human struggle for freedom from oppression everywhere, and because of this, I would like to think that he did not die in vain.
