A worthy investment October 15, 2008 Mr. M. K. Egan 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm not an entrepreneur and have no intention of becoming one (at least not yet!), however I found this a fascinating and inspiring read. You don't have to be in business to benefit from the advice dispensed in this book, it can be applied to people's day to day lives as well, which is what makes it really great. It's an eye opening read and makes you think about the world, and yourself, differently. After all, entrepreneurs see opportunities where you and I see everyday things and the more you read about them, the more their mannerisms and philosophies begin to rub off on you. So if you're looking for an injection of inspiration and motivation in your life, look no further.
underwhelming - should have different title... October 2, 2008 Thomas Baker (Herts, UK) 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is a book of success stories, each about 4-5 pages long. Its nice to read these stories, but if you're looking for real "how to" jewels of wisdom for making it in business yourself (as you might expect from the title), I'd say look elsewhere. I think its impossible to impart any real wisdom in the few pages given to each success story. Still, its nice to see that these people have done it!
Outstanding inspiration! December 8, 2007 Othon Leon 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
With phrases such as "failure cannot live with persistance" and / or ideas like "invent the rules", Rachel Bridge presents a brilliant short stories' collection of people who one day woke up and decided that was it, that was the day they were paying a fair (or unfair) price for taking control of their own destinies. That's just the way you will learn how 40 successful brit companies, among those Bighams, Daily Bread, The Ice Box, Dating Direct, Green Baby, PJ Smothies, Reef One, The People Book, etc.were born and came to be... inspiring book, brilliantly written (summed up) and easily asimilated... get it and read it, satisfaction guaranteed! Actually, I cannot wait to receive her second book "My Big Idea"...

If you need inspiration or are just having a hard time of things in your bussiness then I can suggest picking this up. It really helps to know that other people, normal people have all been through it before and makes you carry on. It made me keep going and and as they say every little helps! No, seriously its o.k, just don't expect any advice on how to, more along the lines of don't give up!!
The perfect present June 29, 2007 Alex Cooper 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
I love this book. I have read it about a million times and I still find it really inspiring. I have bought a copy for all my friends. It makes me think that one day I could start up a business and make it a big success too. I probably won't but it is nice to dream! I also really like Rachel Bridge's other book My Big Idea. It is in the same kind of format as this one but is more about where people got their ideas for their business from.
