Try to avoid of mathematics. April 25, 1999 1 out of 5 found this review helpful
First, I read a copy in a library, it might be old. However, the error seems not a typo. Maybe, he is good at investment. Maybe he could teach others how to avoid of mathematics. But if when he is talking in Mathematics, he'd better say it correctly. This guy don't know how to calculate "Expect Value"! If one use his formula to calculate risk, one may believe he is going to win while he is more likely to lose. So, it might be a good book. But better read it with caution.
Makes Option Trading Easy to Understand - At Last March 17, 1999 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I recognized GF on a plane. He was trying to sleep and I asked him about the markets. I was amazed at his knowledge and the time he would take to answer my questions. He is just a regular guy that taught himself how to trade. I bought his book and thought his story amazing. A cancer victim, told he was going to die and fought back. Refused to accept the doctors advice. Taught himself how to invest and became a money manager and author. The book covers the basics and then explains in easy to understand format how to trade options. Finally it all made sense for me and I started trading. Following Fontanills advice from the book I doubled my money in 5 days in a Microsoft trade. Thank goodness that people like George Fontanills are around to explain things so everyone can understand. I have read all the books on option trading and think this the best. It is so simple and does not waste time with detail that you don't need to know. It is not as complicated as McMillan on options .. which is a great book-end for me. Only complaint. I wanted more of it and would buy the next book in an instant.
Excellent introduction to options September 24, 1998 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is an incredible book. Fontanills introduces the world of options in an easy to follow format. I bought the workbook too for the exercises that compliment the course book. It is an easy to follow guide to get you involved in options. At last the laymans guide to options. Megan
A "must" introduction for the novice in options trading. August 19, 1998 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Give a man a fish (trade) and you will feed him for a day, teach him to fish (trade)and you will feed him for life. This is THE introduction to sensible options trading (or any other trading). It does not cover everything but it does give you the correct path to follow. An excellent introduction to risk control and low stress trading. It is also a very good introduction to the excellent seminars conducted by George Fontanills. Stan Graham -- Sunnyvale CA.
A good place to start but incomplete infromation July 13, 1998 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I found this book to be fairly solid in its basic material. However, it was never able to make the jump from a basic overview on options to developing skills you can actually use to pick and place options orders. I have a feeling the author did this on purpose so the reader would then need to purchase his workbook too!
