I recommend this to everyone I train in presentation skills August 31, 2008 Dawn Sillett (UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am often asked to train people on presentation skills, and heartily recommend this book to everyone who attends. Bob's book is well-structured, clearly-written, memorable, attention-grabbing and funny in the right places - just like a good presentation. When I was asked to do some public speaking it was a case of 'physician heal thyself' and as well as taking my own medicine, I turned back to Bob's book and it was a fantastic resource.
A really interesting book August 13, 2008 Coverley (Scotland) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I really enjoyed this book, it is written in a relaxed conversational style with more than a fair share of humour. I found myself imaging some really embarressing situations, I made a mental note not to fall into the trap of the unfortunate subjects. I am not sure if by reading the book I would be cured of my tendancy to be a quivering wreck, but I really do want to read the book again, firstly because it was such a light hearted cheery account of someones knowledge and experience, but most importantly I really want to take on board some of the brilliant tips given by this excellent author.
Worry no more about your public speaking! June 13, 2008 MKAndy 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The very nature of my job means i have to give many presentations, sometimes standing up, though i usually opt for sitting down to be more comfortable. All of my presentations have been boring, corporate rubbish that no-one ever remembers. Never again. This book has literally changed my presenting style overnight and for the better. More confidence, respect, understanding and control are some of the things you can expect if you follow the words in this book. A must have for anyone who quite literally is a quivering wreck when it comes to presenting, to any given audience!
Must have one on your shelf March 11, 2008 Jovita (Oxford, UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book was a discovery of the year for me. It is short, clear and I know it will work. Most of all I liked the advice to see the audience as cabages. It helps allot. I am a Scientist myself even so I can easily adopt the rules to the audience I talk to.
Possibly the best book on presenting you'll ever read! February 21, 2008 M. Locker 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Not only is it a great book that gives you all the advice you really wanted to know about becoming a good presenter... It's very readable as well! I'd recommend it to anyone having to deliver a business presentation.
