Customer Reviews:
Does what it says on the tin November 24, 2008 Dave Prout (UK) This book is called Introducing Microsoft Silverlight 2, and that's what it does. It tells you what you can do with Silverlight 2, and gives examples. If you try out the examples you can then find out more detail from the web. For example, I hadn't used Animation or Drag 'n Drop, but the information and examples here were enough to get me going. Then I was able to strike out on my own to learn more detail.
A little light, but a good starting point for silverlight October 16, 2008 C. Barrett (Toulouse, France) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Introducing Silverlight 2 is a book that can be quickly read and covers the basics of silverlight. Due to my misunderstanding of silverlight, when I had ordered this book I had thought that it would have details regarding Blend, and the possibilities of this application. This sectio was quickly read. Also I would have liked more infomation about animations and 3D manipulation within silverlight, but again it was very light on this. Overall, a clearly written book, with straighforward examples, and not a bad starting point for silverlight. However, the limitations of this book are quickly reached.
