Excellent Book September 12, 2000 11 out of 15 found this review helpful
Wow, what a roller-coaster of a story. Paul Charles must have committed murder himself to know so much about it. Then again, surely he was once on the Metropolitan force - how else could he have so successfully got into the skin of a Detective Inspector. Paul Charles reminds me of Charles Dickens, and not just because of the name. Like Dickens, Charles makes you understand London. And like Dickens, Paul Charles will be read for a hundred years.
