Definitely not 5 star May 2, 2008 Not a fan (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
A is for anaemic (as in plot, scripting, ending...) B is for boring C is for can I get a refund I have never read anything so lightweight and padded with excess descriptions of dress style, almost down to what model of sewing machine put some character's shirt together. Some serious editing to sharpen up the text, and tighter line spacing might end up with a decent short story.
ABC Trilogy April 10, 2006 S.B. (Dublin Ireland) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
Great value getting 3 good stories in one volumn. I enjoyed A for Alibi and B for Burglar best. The C for Corpse storyline was a little obvious and I felt slightly frustrated with some of the loose ends ..... still I enjoyed all three reads and Sue Graftons easy style and her Kinsey character. So much so, that I've now orderd the DEF Trilogy!
Very Good Value May 9, 2005 Berni Boop (Spain) 20 out of 20 found this review helpful
What more can I ask for?3 books combined as a trilogy,in hardcover, for the price of one, by one of my favourite authors,Sue Grafton. This author has created a woman we feel we know in the form of Kinsey Millhone,to produce the best detective fiction I have read for a long time.Kinsey is the female equivalent to James Patterson's Alex Cross, another well-known serialised detective. In each of these three complete novels Sue Grafton has excelled yet again with her plots full of twists and turns and surprise endings.B-is for Brilliant!!Well done Sue Grafton!!
You wont want to put it down May 2, 2003 24 out of 24 found this review helpful
I first discovered Sue Grafton when someone bought me I is for innnocent, the minute i read it i was hooked, so i went out and bought all the opther books. This trilogy is good, it introduces you into Kinseys character and moulds the affection that you will soon gain for her and her friends, Henry and Rosie particularly. The stories are thrilling, you wont want to put your book down and i promise you the miunte you read one of her books you will not be able to stop reading them. The twists, characters and plot form a magical combination.
Brilliant detective work by an unorthodox female February 25, 2002 sylvia.mendham@guideline-careers.co.uk (Edwinstowe, Notts, UK) 21 out of 22 found this review helpful
Discovered Sue Grafton's character Kinsey Malone whilst on holiday in the US. This compendium of her first three novels in the alphabet series all flow on, in time, after each other. Kinsey's unusual humour and outlook on life along with her dogged perseverence to see a job through is a winning combination. This gripping crime series made me want more and I also purchased the next three letters in the series, again in compendimum format - again brilliant. A recommended read to any crime buff.
