2 out of 5 stars Parker lite   December 4, 2005

Anyone looking for an in-depth discussion of RBP's work will be disappointed by this thin volume. The man himself is sparing with his words but you would think 30 years worth of novels would provide plenty of scope for a companion volume.

What you get here are a couple of very brief essays and a short,if interesting, interview with Dr Parker. The character listings don't really add anything new, being far too concise.

There are no maps as promised; just a list of places mentioned.Far better to spend your money on Spenser's Boston - a wonderful illustrated guide to the city.

Overall an opportunity missed.
