Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars The Darkest book of Lescroart ever   May 4, 2004
11 out of 15 found this review helpful

This certainly is the darkest book Lescroart ever wrote. For the first time both Hardy and Glitsky take the law in their hands and leave at their guns the ultimate verdict...in order to protect the "first law" : the protection of their families. With "the first law" Lescroart introduces to us a more mature and deep style of writing. The loss of a friend, the guilt, the suspicion to their friends, a fight against their values, the sense that the law they are serving for years cannot now protect them and the authorities do not believe them... those are what his heroes are facing at ''the fisrt law'' Notice that is also the first time that Glitsky appears to be more human. He even laughs! Don't miss it!
