Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars Capable but lacks a spark   May 9, 2000

We are back in the South again with our tame judge and her alarming family of brothers. As usual we hear far too much about what they eat and the manufacture of illegal alcohol is treated in a romantic fashion. It's a good plot and the tension is good but I for one am getting a bit tired of the characters - I don't feel that there is anything new said about them here and one or two are becoming cardboard. I never thought that Deborah's love affair would last and I, for one, can read the signs that forecast where her love life is going in the next book or possibly the one after.
