5 out of 5 stars Fun Food for Thought   July 6, 2004

I received this book from a good friend and am really, really glad to have discovered this author. She should do very well as she has managed to give one an easy and quick and fun read but one that stays with you long after putting the book down. There is a lot to think about in Running out of Time and without ever getting heavy, she gets one pondering. I'll certainly be recommending this to my friends.

By the way, why do you say it is out of stock when it isn't?

5 out of 5 stars Gripping read, one for the beach!   July 6, 2004

This was a very easy and lazy book to read, one to take to the beach and read whilst lying on the beach towel taking in the rays. It just made me want to get to the end to find out what happens....... I even had to go to the end to read the last page. It didn't spoil it it just made me want to get there faster to see how the story evolved. Some very racy encounters by the main character, especially with Albert (?!) on the way to an ending that left me very satisfied and waiting for another book by this author. Excellent read.

5 out of 5 stars Must Buy & Read Rachael Conisbee's "Running out of time"   June 30, 2004

Light enough to make time fly on the plane to wherever - a sure cure for depression - some thought provoking questions to confront if you are in intellectual mood - but anyway, a damn good read !

If you like Terry Pratchett's outpourings you will love this ! Similar style but, with a touch of Rachael's eccentricity stirred-in, it is faster paced, racier and has more "knicker-gripping," (well, in my case, "underpant-gripping"), bits. Instantaneous switches from humour to pathos: Balanced mixture of naughty and nice. Close to fantasy but we've all nearly been there, or would like to have been / are glad we haven't been. (Delete as you find appropriate). We know all of the characters, - probably even catch glimpses of ourselves, - but Rachael makes them simultaneously both real and, much larger than life. Nice trick, that ! Several, intricately interwoven story-lines and at the end of the book, not all of them have had the door finally closed. There is room here to produce a sequal; a saga, even, and the talent is there to do it.

Come on Rachael, I'm waiting !

Come on Amazon, get it back into print - I want to give copies to people for Christmas !
