Excellent book for the beach July 28, 2008 bookworm (uk) Love this author, the structure of the book and fast action makes this a perfect read when you have nothing else to do. I do prefer his Ben Shepherd books but they are all good. Have just bought another 3 to take on holiday.
Cracking adventure January 18, 2008 Clive 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Another good early piece from Leather where he shows the trauma of Bosnia and Serbia from a 12 year old girls perspective, who is now 16, and adopted in US. Her new Father's business gets threatenend and the young girl uses her experiences from Bosnia to help him out. A great and thrilling adventure if a little far fetched at the end (chances of stumbling across a hot air balloon, bullets that only hit by-standers, and the dumbest bads guys). Still recommended.
Yet another good one September 25, 2007 A. Craney (North East England) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is another good story from Mr Leather. Couldn't put it down. Great stuff.
Thrills and suspense till the last page September 5, 2000 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
So many twists and turns it's unreal. What a story it could make acracking film. The plot goes from one extreme to another. It's one ofstephen leathers best books. I honestly couldn't put the book down I fully recommend this book
See if you can put it down ! August 27, 2000 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
I was first introduced to the talents of Stephen Leather when I read "Double Tap". I have since read all of his novels, and this is probably the best along with "The Chinaman". The research is excellent, and his style is on a par with Jack Higgins. He has an amazing ability to keep you in incredible suspense, right up to the last page. If you have never read Stephen Leather, read this - and I'll guarantee you will become addicted. PS - buy "The Chinaman" next !
