A must for every horror/gost story fan! July 30, 2002 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
As a true Stephen King fan I couldn't walk past a book with his name on the cover, and besides, I always think an anthology is a great way to get to know other authors' work that I otherwise wouldn't buy. The 29 tales in this book are representing almost every aspect of the horror genre. You will find vampires, haunted houses, living dead, ghosts, gothics and much, much more. Spine-chilling stuff! To my great delight I found that the Stephen King story I originally bought the book for is nowhere near the best piece in this unputdownable anthology. And mind you, the King story is pure King! Check out Eric Van Lustbader's "An exaltation of termagants", a beautifull and scary story about the power of love; or Chet Williamson's "Excerpts from the Records of the New Zodiac..." a chilling tale of what men will do to exceed each other; or my personal favourite "Elsewhere" by William Peter Blatty, really a short novel - a ghost story with a twist. This is to mention but a few of the fantastic storys in this must-buy book. Get it now - you won't be disappointed!
