Very, very poor March 4, 2004 J. C. Davies (liverpool) 1 out of 13 found this review helpful
Of all the books I have read this has to be the worse. Shiela was an unconvincing character the jokes just weren't funny and it left me feeling sad. It was definetly lacking a character called Bob.Robert Rankin 4eva Have it!
Quite good but not the best January 26, 2003 DM Webster (Norfolk) Love Clive Barker. Bored with this book. No, that's not fair. There are mainly some very good interpretations of stories from the Books of Blood. I liked Pig Blood Blues, How Spoilers Bleed, Down Satan and The Midnight Meat Train; mainly the ones I enjoyed in the short story collections. However, I thought stories like The Madonna (too long and boring) and Scape Goats (obvious and derivative) were there just to fill the space up. The drawings in Skins of the Fathers could also have been better but that's just personal taste. If you like Clive Barker, get this book. If you're not sure buy Hellraiser first.
