2 out of 5 stars Very disappointing   October 19, 2008

Most of the stories were neither humorous nor horrific and many were quite simply boring. I've given it two stars because of "The Ungrateful Dead" by Kelly Armstrong, which was one of the few exceptions to this and because of Jim Butcher's "Day Off" which is a really nice out-take from the Dresden Files, although probably a bit confusing for anyone who isn't already familiar with Harry.

One of the biggest problems with this anthology is that there are so many authors contributing (21 stories in 379 pages) that all the entries are more like teasers than stories in their own right. Sherrilyn Kenyon is one of my favorite authors but "Where Angel's Fear to Tread" read like the first draft of a chapter from something longer and left me completely unsatisfied.
