5 out of 5 stars The Island   August 24, 2008
Debbie (Kent, UK)
I could not put this book down. It was beautifully written with compassion and in fact, drove me to book a holiday in Crete to visit the island myself which was everything I thought it would be.

I recommend this book only if you have time to spare to read til the end. Compelling, tragic and wonderfully written. I have lent this book to members of my family who all feel the same way. I understand people have compared it to John Tayman's book Under my Skin, but this was written beautifully even though it may not contain lots of hard hitting medical facts.

2 out of 5 stars where's the substance?   August 17, 2008
Ms. L. J. Armstrong (Reading)
Well what can I say, it is a holiday read that lacks depth and anything else really. For what it is, it is a mildly diverting read with a few interesting bits thrown in. Hmmm...Richard and Judy have alot to answer for.

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic Book!!   August 5, 2008

Could't put the book down. Read it in 2 days. Fascinating, believable characters. You felt like you were there.

5 out of 5 stars The Island   August 5, 2008
P. Wire (Hythe, Kent)
Read this book on holiday and could not put it down - lovely story which made me want to find out more about Spinalonga. I am looking forward to reading Victoria Hislops next book.

5 out of 5 stars Loved it   August 4, 2008
D. Milner (Kent, UK)
I absolutely loved this book. I found it interesting, loved the descriptions and loved the characters. Found myself wondering about them. Highly recommended
