A bit disappointing...September 28, 2008 Shiloh(East Sussex, UK) I love Linda Howard - her Mackensie series is a definite keeper; All the Queens Men, etc - wow.
So I had high hopes for this one. But it was kinda like romance by numbers. Throw in a little suspense, some danger (but nothing like what it it implies from the blurb) and I have to agree with the first review - very much like a longer silhouette sensation novel - she can and does do much better than this.
Check out Angel of Death - now THAT was more like it!

I thought it was okay but to be honest, I thought it was more like reading a longer silhouette sensation novel. The majority of the book deals with their struggle to survive in the wilderness and not being chased by a derranged killer as the cover would have you believe. This is a book that you would borrow and return from the library.
