Falls short on details May 27, 2008 Paul Michaels (Fuerteventura, Spain) The basic structure of the course works well but you need a lot of other materials for the complete set. This can be expensive for the students. In terms of the contents, I have concerns about the illustrations -I regularly have older students who cannot see the small detail in the illustrations even with glasses. Also, the examples used are often too complicated, outdated, or specific to the UK. Teaching abroad from this book is made difficult because I have to revert to the home language to explain the illustration before the students can interpret it and get the answers (if they can read the fine detail, that is). I wouldn't want to use this if I didn't speak the language of my students. To accomplish the material in each section therefore requires a substantial library of alternative materials.
