WHO AM I ... ? May 15, 2007 solditquickly 0 out of 18 found this review helpful
WHO AM I? I am your constant companion. I am your greatest helper or heaviest burden. I will push you onward or drag you down to failure. I am completely at your command. Half the things I do you might just as well turn over to me and I will be able to do them quickly and correctly. I am easily managed - you must merely be firm with me. Show me exactly how you want something done and after a few lessons I will do it automatically. I am the servant of all great individuals and, alas, of all failures, as well. Those who are great, I have made great. Those that are failures, I have made failures. I am not a machine, though I work with all the precision of a machine plus the intelligence of a human. You may run me for a profit or run me for ruin - it makes no difference to me. Take me, train me, be firm with me, and I will place the world at your feet. Be easy with me and I will destroy you. WHO AM I? ... Read the book and find out!!
A truly wicked book... January 20, 2006 Bethany Williams 40 out of 42 found this review helpful
I picked up this book merely because I had heard a lot about the seven habits of highly effective people. I don't think I really expected to learn anything from it. I guess I was, and still am really, the archetypal know it all teenager who doesn't need any help with anything. However, this book shows you life strategies that really do work. Some of the things in it are so simple that you wonder why you never thought like that before. This is a great book for teenagers, because we are often probably more likely to listen to a book than to a person.
A Book For Teenagers and Adults! December 22, 2005 S. Finlay (Birmingham, West Midlands United Kingdom) 40 out of 41 found this review helpful
Whilst this book is written for teenagers, it equally applies to adults. It is written in plain english, is easy to understand and full of pictures/stories. Most of all its FUN to read. It is like reading a textbook without evening knowing it!! It covers habits that we all need to develop - whatever age we are -taking responsibility for our lives, defining what you want to do in your life, prioritising, adopt a win-win attitude, listening to people, working togehter and taking care of yourselves. I loved it - would recommend it to teenagers, their parents, trainers or just anyone looking for self development.
Excellent August 4, 2005 23 out of 26 found this review helpful
This book really is well written, and perfect for a teenager. Sean Covey has got it spot on, and it actually works. Its very easy to read, and also very enjoyable. I have recommended it to many friends, and they have taken a lot form it. This beek also makes a perfect gift. None of us seem to have much "life-management" in this day and age, so this beek can really change a person for the better, whilst they are in their youth. Its good to see that the writing skills were passed down in Stephen Covery's family.
Easier to read than original August 25, 2004 stephen Luff (Worthing, Sussex United Kingdom) 21 out of 23 found this review helpful
I've had the original for about 3 years and never got past the third chapter. I dug it out about a month ago with a new steely determination to read it. That is until I spotted Stephen Covey's son Sean's book habits for teens. This was really effortless to read. This really covers the ground of his dad's book but with a more 'young' and 'fun' enthusiasm to it. I've Knocked off a star as it doesn't cover a topic about habits that I believe is the most important point of all about the power of habits. Having said that it certainly does cover a lot of ground and should be read as a great understanding of habits.
