Amazon.co.uk Review "The precious present has nothing to do with wishing...The richness of the precious present comes from its own source...The precious present is not something that someone gives you...It is something that you give to yourself." The parable of The Precious Present is a quiet one; it is a book to muse upon and sit with, and finally to take into your heart. Spencer Johnson, co-author of the bestselling business classic The One Minute Manager, has created a simple path for the reader to follow in the search for peace and clarity. While The Precious Present may read like a children's book for adults, its slow pacing requires the mind to quiet down, and to really register the meaning of Johnson's words. "The Present Is Simply Who I Am Just The Way I Am...Right Now. And It Is Precious." We may be familiar with this philosophy in theory, but the experience of reading The Precious Present is truly synchronous with its message. --Jodie Buller

THE PRECIOUS PRESENT is a book that will capture your heart. However, it is more than a book, it is a profound message that can help you be happy with yourself and your life forever. For all of us, the difficult problems of everyday life often appear complicated, and insurmountable. But the solutions are usually surprisingly simple -- when we find them. Reading this extraordinary and simple book is a personal journey that you will want to share with those you care about, for you will be reminded of how you can feel good about yourself. In his recent bestseller, THE ONE MINUTE MANAGER, Dr. Spencer Johnson told a simple story -- one that is helping to rehumanize people's work places throughout the world. In this book, Dr. Johnson he shows us how to care about and take good care of ourselves. Take the time to learn about THE PRECIOUS PRESENT. There is no better gift you can give -- first to, yourself and then to the people you love.

I can not recommend this book highly enough to anyone who has suffered an emotional problem in the past. I was advised to read it whilst receiving counseling following the death of a very close relative. I can only say that after reading it numerous times it has helped me more than counseling could ever do.Go out and buy a copy of today, you won't regret it.

Sometimes ultimate truth is best told in a simple story. Unfortunately, this is a bit too simple. My mind was so riveted by the author laboriously and repetitively stretching out his words that I quite forgot the message about enjoying the present moment. I would probably say that if you prefer a element of depth to your parables, then this is not for you.
