An Excellent Story November 10, 2008 Lincs Reader (Lincolnshire, England) The story of Laura Brannigan who is in a Scottish prison for murdering her best friend. Wrongly in prison as she didnt commit the murder. Out of the blue she receives a letter from an ex-lover Stuart. Stuart was her first and only true love but she betrayed him many years ago, despite that, Stuart is the only person that believes that Laura is innocent and is determined to prove it. The narrative goes from past to present and back again throughout the story. The scenes from Laura's early life, the poverty and neglect and the later years of casinos, porn and the low-life were really well told and explained how Laura came to be in the situation she found herself in. The characters in Faith are well drawn and very colourful and although there are many characters and lots of sub plots, it never becomes confusing. The stories weave themselves together very well. An excellent novel, I was engrossed from the beginning.
Fantastic read August 5, 2008 Leigh Goodall (Horsham, West Sussex) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have read all of Lesley Pearce's books and found this to be the very best. It had me gripped right from the very start and I did not want it to end. A fantastic read.
Brilliant August 4, 2008 Ruth Pearson (Co. Durham, England) I have read quite a few of Lesley Pearse's novels. I wasn't sure if I would like this one when it was first published, but my friend lent it to me so I decided to give it a go. So pleased I did, I couldn't put it down, as usual Ms Pearse has excelled again. If you are a Lesley Pearse fan it won't disapoint. If you haven't read her books before I can recommend this and other titles too.
Another excellent book by Lesley Pearse July 31, 2008 M. Lugg (Helston, Cornwall United Kingdom) I was hooked on this book from the very begining. The characters are well formed and you like the goodies and hate the baddies. A great storyline that keeps you wondering and the pages turning. I just couldn't put this book down. A fantastic read you won't be disappointed.
A really fantastic read July 23, 2008 Book lover (England) This is a really great story and I followed the story of Laura from childhood to adulthood with great interest. Pearse draws you in from the very first chapter and the story is written with realism and not so much romanticism (which I personally prefer). This is my first Lesley Pearse and I'm now looking forward to getting hold of 'Gypsy'.
