1 out of 5 stars Not good   May 3, 2008

Not half as good as her other novels - i only read half. Gina is so dull and Izzy is not likeable. its very slow and just not involving. you just dont care about anyone in the story.

5 out of 5 stars The queen of chick lit   April 5, 2008

Maybe she does not write literary masterpieces, but Jill Mansell is my number one writer when I am looking for relaxed unadulterated pleasure. Her characters, as usual, are full of life. Her stories are fun and I love knowing beforehand that everybody will live happily ever after. A great pick-me-up for any occasion.

4 out of 5 stars Great read!   December 11, 2007

This is one of Jill Mansells great books.

It centres around Izzy and Gina after Gina knocks Izzy off her motorbike. There's lots of unexpected twists and turns in this romantic comedy. Mansell makes the characters real and you will end up caring for them and what happens to them. Izzy's teenage daughter seems a real sweetheart but she makes some unexpected mistakes. And its interesting to watch Izzy find out being famous isn't all she thought it would be...

For a good read, definately pick this one up!

5 out of 5 stars Jill's most enjoyable book so far   March 17, 2002

An hilariously funny and touching tale of the ups and downs of the optimistic Izzy, her long suffering daughter Kat, their friends and their love lives. I found it hard to put down.
The best Jill Mansell book I have read so far.

4 out of 5 stars Another winner from Mansell   October 22, 2001

Izzy isn't the most loveable Mansell heroine, but she grows on you (as she does on the other characters in the book). In fact, this book is a collection of some real oddballs - Izzy (aspiring singer and full-time flake), Gina (if there was anyone less appropriately named in fiction - she's definitely not a "Gina"!), Vivienne (never-take-no-for-an-answer Ex of our hero, Sam), Marcy (who breaks up Gina's marriage with an untimely pregnancy), Tash (a classic jerk in sheep's clothing), Kat (who at 17 appears to be the mature one, but proves she's not quite that grown up after all), Andrew (Gina's husband, you almost come to feel sorry for him!), Simon (future hero in the making), and Sam - our perfect hero. You can see - another cast of thousands, a Mansell trademark. I have to admit - although I liked this book a lot (stayed up late last night to finish it), I don't love it the way I have loved previous Mansell novels. It's very good - but Good at Games, Head Over Heels, Millie's Fling, Sheer Mischief, Perfect Timing are all loads better. I've got Mixed Doubles to finish up, then it's a long dry spell until the next one hits the shelf! Keep turning them out Jill, we love them!
