Superb!!!!! February 16, 2008 Bookworm (Wales) 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
I have read all of Kinley MacGregor's books and I have been waiting with a lot of other people for Lochlan's book and finally find out what happened to Kieran (Lochlan's missing brother) or do we. I read all Kinley MacGregor's books and I always enjoy reading them for the excellent way she writes books and I am never disappointed and I wasn't this time.
FANTASTIC!!! January 19, 2008 avid reader (london, uk) 9 out of 11 found this review helpful
Kinley Macgregor is very much on form with this story....her writing is witty, storylines gripping and hero/ines deep and full of character. I've been awaiting cat and Lochlan's story since Ewan's story!!!....and boy I've not been disappointed! the relationship between the main characters is emotional and keeps you glued to the book to see what happens next between them. There was a few bits in the story regarding Lochlan's father that confused me from his description in Sin's story "Born in sin" but the story was so good it just became a minor mute bone of contention!! if you liked the other books on the Macallisters then this one is a must read, with the mystery about keiren's disapperance finally laid to rest. the final chapters had me in tears with the scenes and emotions portrayed. i dont write reviews alot but felt the need to try and convey my feelings on this book for others to see. This along with kinley's other stories will definitely be one to keep on my bookshelf.
I find myself always enjoying the Kinley McGregor books December 8, 2007 R. Phillips 19 out of 19 found this review helpful
In Scotland, from birth Laird Lochlan MacAllister was trained to lead his clan; thus he has never been away from home as responsibility to his people has always come before any personal desire. However, he also never had a reason to go away until now. His late brother's plaid is returned to him and his family implying his sibling lives. He vows to find his sibling and if alive rescue him. On his quest, Lochlan comes to the rescue of Catarina, the illegitimate daughter of King Phillip of France, from an attempted abduction by the monarch's men. Realizing she is safer with Lochlan than with some toad her sire wants her to marry, Catarina accompanies him as he searches for his sibling from tournament to tournament. This Brotherhood of the Sword historical romance is an exciting tale due to the changing relationship between the lead couple as he investigates what happened to his brother. The duo initially distrusts one another, begin to admire one another, and finally fall in love with one another. Readers will appreciate Kinley MacGregor's fine tale that combines a bit of a mystery with adventure, romance and humor. Only this author can create such a spellbinding tale!! I would also recommend reading Tino Georgiou's bestselling novel--The Fates--if you haven't already.
