Heirs of Empire (Dahak Series) April 2, 2004 This is the third installment in the series. While it picks up and continues the basic storyline from the previous series it is more of an expantion novel rather than a direct continuation of the story line. It is basicaly a way to introduce more charecters for future books. Neverless it is a good book in it's on rights while my personal preference would be more for more battles like in the previous two books, there are fights aplenty in this one. The main difference in between this book and the previos is rather than a single storyline, you have to main stories that run together, which are only tied together by the fact that the main charecters in the second story are the children of the charecters from the other story and the previous books. The driving factor of the previous books was the imenent arrival of the genocidal Achuultani, while in this book there no major driving factor to move the story forward. In general not as good as the first two and definetly in need of sequeals to bring the series to conclussion.
A good example of Webers work. January 15, 2000 kevin.anderson@hotelworld.com (Dunstable, England) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Another good , well written action story. The best feature of Webers heroes and heroines is their concern for the moral issue
Can't wait for the next one in the series ! June 28, 1999 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I really enjoyed the book and hope he writes another one fairly quick for both this one and the Honor Harrington series. Great author.
Another great story from David Weber!!! May 20, 1999 This book is awesome. You get a really good feel for the kid's characters, but I would like to read more about Harry. I expected her to play a bigger role in the story. Overall, I found the kid's adventure more interesting than Colin's - that's okay since it was the majority of the book. I can't wait until the next installment! Did the computer accept Sean's authority???
best sci-fi series i've ever read June 9, 1998 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
this is the best science fiction series of books i've ever read. I rarely read a book more than once, but i've read all the books in this series at least 3 times straight through. I have trouble putting them down even to stop to eat. Mr. Weber, if you're reading this, I encourage you to keep writing on this series all the way to it's logical conclusion, the destruction of the Achu'Ultan computer.
