5 out of 5 stars Very informative and accurate.   March 31, 2006

I only just started on this book yesterday, but I am already thoroughly impressed. Master Ip Chun is after all the son of Master Yip Man who also taught Bruce Lee this style of Kung Fu. Aside from the very interesting history and some very technical drawings and explanations on the first three forms of Wing Chun, there is also a glossary in the back that gives the Chinese names of 114 movements found in the first two forms. You will even find the Wing Chun Code Of Conduct in these pages. All and all, a very well put together book.

If you are looking for uncorrupted information on Wing Chun in a pure form, I don't think it can get much better than the books written by Master Ip Chun himself. This one included.

I purchased this book when starting my Wing Chun training. I was looking for a manual that, following training, reinforced the techniques and principles i had learnt in my previous session. As a novice "Simply Wing Chun" has proved invaluable.
Skillfully written, with excellent and practical diagrams, i consider this book to be an excellent resource for both beginners and more experienced practicioners, who are passionate about improving their knowledge og Wing Chun.
Highly recommended!!!

5 out of 5 stars Simply Fantastic- a No Nonsense Approach   July 1, 2004

Simply Wing Chun is a truely excellent book that adhears to Wing Chun's principles of simplicity and directness. The diagrams are all clear and the text is well written. As usual, you need to be a Wing Chun student in order to 'learn' anything from this book but if you are one, this book will greatly improve your understanding no matter what your level.

All the main principles of the forms and the system are explained really well with clear, easy to follow diagrams. Each topic is well summarised at the end of the discussion / chapter to highlight the main concepts.

I use this book for a reference when I travel and sometimes at home but usually I use the set of Randy Williams books I was lucky enough to get hold of.

This really is a fantastic book that no Wing Chun student or Sifu should be without.

hi a excellent book for beginners and advanced students, it gives the reader a superberb insight into Wing Chun histor, philosphoy, why things are done thw way there are etc. The book has a wealth of information.

This is one of the best books on Wing Chun which i have come across which is not many, but like all wing chun books this book to get maximum effect, HAS to be used with attending a class and practicing what you learn in class at home everyday, YOU CAN NOT LEARN WING CHUN FROM THIS BOOK, What you can learn is the priciplies and move once you have learned the moves in class, the information in the book will improve anything which needs improving or changing.

5 out of 5 stars simply wing chun kung fu...   February 28, 2004

simply wing chun kung fu is simply the best wing chun book on the market. It is in depth, detailed, accessable to all wing chun practicioners and is a valluble reference book for your training. All wing chun people should get a lot from this book whether you are a senior practicioner or a beginer, i urge you to buy this book if you want a decent wing chun book that you can return to time and time again. All of that sounds a little cliche but it really is a great book and sifu rawcliffe is very knowledgable when it comes to wing chun and is well acredited for his prowess in the martial arts world, buy it, read it and tell me you don't agree, it covers basics in detail is well as a lot of the more subtl aspects which often go misunderstood or ignored completely, i can't praise it enough.
