Impressive October 8, 2008 Mr. M. A. Pritchard (Newport) One of my top 5 hooligan books, and I'm a Newport County fan. Well-written, entertaining, seems to be fairly truthful and having two different points of view in one book is a nice touch. The bits about the casual fashions of the day were of particular interest to me.
good but not brilliant August 6, 2008 gareth good and funny in places with great detail of the encounters the authors had but not a patch on some other books i have read
grammer is awful June 9, 2008 wolfsbreath (london) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
put me off reading this book by the piss poor grammer errors and awful way it was worded. dont you taffys have spell checkers? everyone seems to be the hardest man they ever met, this gets so repetative its annoying. stick to sheep worrying and leave the book writings to west ham.
WELL UP THE PECKING ORDER.... August 1, 2007 Jason Thorne (England / Oxford) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have to say a very good book cover to cover insight to Britains Most Notorious Hooligan Gang. Everybody has there own views on who is top of the tree I have read most books on what I have read here you have got to say they must be in the top three. Well worth a read.
Blast from the Past July 5, 2006 L. E. Beaumont (gloucestershire, uk) 3 out of 6 found this review helpful
As a Cardiff fan of many years, I bought this to see what "the boys" had to say. It is as other reviewers have already said an excellent read, it flows really well and is written with humour and a degree of humilty. It certainly stands head and shoulders above other books of this type. I started going to Cardiff right at the beginning of the '80's, in fact at my first game, against West Ham got hit by a bottle thrown by my own fans! I have to admit that I was one of the coach "normal" fans, but I have seen the Soul Crew in action many times, and only ever seen Cardiff overrun once (by Chelsea, as mentioned in the book). It has its faults, (I don't really care what they were wearing during a fight, but apart from that I highly recommend this entertaining read, for myself it was like a trip down memory lane!
