Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Does what it says on the tin   January 15, 2008
Robert Wilkes
Phil Slater's book remains the bible for young sailors who want to race in the Optimist dinghy. It is written by a GP who just happened to be the first coach of multiple Olympic medallist Ben Ainslie and combines a doctor's care for the physical and psychological development of young people with a practical approach to showing them how to make their Optimist go faster.
As secretary of the International Optimist Dinghy Association I whole-heartedly recommend this book.

This is a very complicated book for what is a children's dinghy.
Most people will be happier with "Sailing for Kids", also by Fernhurst.
