5 out of 5 stars Best biography of the year   November 14, 2005

This biography of Alan Baxter is long overdue. I cant beleive there hasnt been one before. The insight into how he handled losing his olympic medal and how he had to go into hiding at the time is fascinating. What was really surprising was the detail of Baxter's early career - it seems amazing that he ever made it to the top level, such were the obstacles in his way. a really good read for ski fans but also general sports fans. you'll finish the book hoping alain goes to turin 2006 to get his medal back. come on the highlander! bob m, edinburgh
