This little book was a life saver on my first trip to Russia. I had it with me all the time. The book starts with rules for pronounciation and the complete Russian (Cyrillic) alphabet. The phrases are organised by topic so you will quickly find what you need. Each topic includes a short introduction to the local customs. Things do work differently there, so this is useful. Phrases are listed in English and include the cyrillic translation as well as a transliteration (essential for pronounciation).
Besides the phrases there is also a "What you'll hear" and a "What you'll see" list for each topic. Here you will find a lot of useful information as well.
Finally at the back there is an English-Russian (transliteration) wordlist, which unfortunately does not include the Cyrillic spelling.
The only thing missing is a Russian-English wordlist. Very few people in Russian speak English, so such a list would be helpful if some-one is trying to explain something to you.
All in all, this is excellent value for money. I still use it as a quick reference in my Russian language classes.
