Superb conclusion to a great series October 20, 2005 snowzz 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was hooked from the first page of the first book. I have a couple of quibbles with the series as a whole, namely that a couple of the titles could have been more tightly edited - perhaps it would have been better as a 5 or six book series? That said, Ellie is one of the most engaging characters I've come across for a long time. The series is thought provoking and never patronising. The ending is perfect - bittersweet and credible. A follow-up title featuring an adult Ellie would be very welcome!
Fantastic series, great book August 21, 2003 This book (in fact the entire series) written by John Marsden is an extremely well written, enthralling read for young readers and also adults. The pinacle of Marsden's career, read them all.
best 1 in the serious December 17, 2001 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
this book was excellent it keepes you on the edge of your seat. once again this book raises all issues in a teenagers life and how the group copes with it and thinkin on the brighter side of life. the endin is not excactly what you hope for but its very true and beliveable.this book is the best in the serious. these books of ellie could go on forever but this has to be the the final one due to the sercumstances. these are the best books i have read there totally believable, realistic and as the main charctors are young in age it brings everthing together and these stories are totally addictive!
This is a brilliant conclusion to a fantastic series. November 15, 2001 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
The Other Side of Dawn is the stunning conclusion to the Tomorrow Series. Marsden recounts a thrilling adventure, that had my adrenaline running and my heart pounding, as though I was actually fighting the war with Ellie and her friends. I was on tenterhooks from the first page until the last, as the narrative roared along. However, this is not simply a rip roaring action book. The way that Marsden tackles the issues of being a teenager in the face of war is compelling. Betrayal, revenge, selflessness, isolation, love, death and the purpose of life are all dealt with in this book, which - along with the whole series - is a must resd for all young adults.
A great book concluding the series, really worth reading. November 10, 2001 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
A very well written book as with all the rest of the series but perhaps an inconclusive ending, it sort of leaves you waiting for more. But a truly excellent book bringing Ellie and her friends back to life.
