5 out of 5 stars A favourite in our house   August 27, 2008
Gypsy Barlow (Suffolk, UK)
I can't help but write a review for this book even though we don't read it anymore. It is a very treasured book which my children absolutely loved - a real favourite. It is charming, sweet and fun. It tackles problems of pregnancy on every page in a calm, lilting poem which is perfectly suited to very young children. It gives an explanation for things which might otherwise frighten children such as morning sickness and tiredness. It is particularly touching to read that the author became father to twins at the end.

A sweet, safe, kind book which is a great help when you are expecting a baby and the elder sibling is still very young.

4 out of 5 stars Wonderful book   August 15, 2008
S. Boyden (Lincoln, England)
I bought this wonderful book for my 20 month old daughter and myself to read as I went through various stages of pregnancy. We both fell in love with it and by the time her baby brother was born she could quote alot of the little rhymes in it. My Son is now 4 months old but we still enjoy reading this lovely book.

1 out of 5 stars Obviously written by a man.   July 2, 2008

A terrible book with stunning one-liners such as 'there's a house inside my mummy but the door is rather tight!' Explain that to a curious 3 year old. Presumably published because he's the man behind Purple Ronnie. If you really need it I would suggest borrowing from the library to save the world from more printed copies.

5 out of 5 stars A great book for siblings/siblings to be   June 16, 2008
Bookworm (London, UK)
I received this book as a gift for my 18 month old as I'm expecting again. I already have a 6 and 5 year old who are pretty clued up on pregnancy and childbirth. I've never purchased a 'mummy's having a baby' type book in the past, just didn't feel the need but this book is a big hit for all 3 of my children and I'd highly recommend it. My 6 year old reads it to his sisters and can relate to the mother's symptoms too. I love the way it touches on several aspects of pregnancy, especially the mummy being sick and tired alot as that's me all over, as well as the nice things like the little kicks - had to LOL about the very tight door - hilarious! Got to put that in there for the adult reader!

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic!   September 28, 2007

This book is written by the Purple Ronnie writer and the verses are fab. My son aged 18 months at the time just adored it and even now a year on he still loves it, even though the boy in the story had a brother and we had a girl! A really lovely way of explaining things to youngsters.
