compusary buy for university PGCE course August 19, 2007 Ms. Nadia K. Bashiri-rad (Gloucestershire, UK) This book was on the booklist for the PGCE course at uni of Gloucestershire. It is not very good! There is simpley a questions section and a very brief answer section. Sometimes the answer section didn't answer the questions. It's very basic and useless if you want to expand your knowledge, It is just an audit but a pricey one and I think to say it's a self study guide is a bit exaggrated. Avoid buying this if you can or atleast share it with you mates to save them buying it.
Essential for all would be primary teachers October 2, 2001 sandy.cossar@educated.org.uk (Derbyshire, England) 24 out of 25 found this review helpful
This book has been invaluable in aiding my understanding of the concepts and skills needed to teach primary science. I am not a science specialist, but the format is accessible for all levels of expertise. The sections auditing your science knowledge build into a complete reference guide for information used in primary science. The feedback sections give practical ideas and advice. I particularly liked the summaries at the end of each chapter which will be a good place to start further research if needed.
