3 out of 5 stars Not bad but not great either!   August 29, 2008
Natalie Thomas (Brighton, England)
I would have expected a bit more from Penny Smith but trying to reserve judgement being her first book.

The story was good but seemed to come to an abrupt end, maybe leading onto a follow up second book?

I get very quiet periods at work and read this in 3 days. I will buy her next book if there is one just to give her a chance to prove me wrong.

4 out of 5 stars a great first novel: a funny read!   August 22, 2008

This book bounces along, and is a great beach read. The characters are all a bit useless, comical and some intensely unlikeable (apart from the gorgeous Bob) - its a quirky insight into the world of tv.

I loved it.

1 out of 5 stars proof of the star system at work   August 17, 2008

Terrible. The sort of stuff you expect from Jordan. And I like Penny Smith. Maybe she feels she is getting to the end of her presenting career and needed to make some dosh. Must have called in a lot of favours from friends to generate all the publicity that made fools like me buy it. Fraud.

Come On penny, you had an interesting subject to write about but you blew it completely. Poor Anthea Turner!

Will never buy anymore of your stuff and shame on people like Richard and Judy who reviewed it. Unreadable trash.

3 out of 5 stars a harmless 1st attempt   August 17, 2008

so Penny has me in fits on GMTV so i was really looking forward to this and to be honest it's not that bad, lets face it Emily Bronte never had anything to worry about

Penny really should have kept the setting inside the breakfast tv station, instead of moving it out of there. And like others noted, the villian didn't get their comeuppance and the ending happened pretty damn quick.

not bad tho

still think ya brill Penny..but as my school report said, too many times..'must try harder'

An ok read, kept expecting it to get going and reveal a plot of some kind. But the real disappointment was the ending.... well... I thought my edition was missing a few pages! When I realised that was it, the book was thrown across the room! Great 'Penny' fan so am disappointed!
