Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Exciting, romantic, sexy, a great read   September 29, 2008

Unlike the other reviewers, I thought that Eclipse was the best in the series so far. (It is the third in a set of four). The love triangle between Bella, Edward and Jacob was so sad and frustrating because we all know that she made the foolish choice in the end but the chemistry between her and her "choice" was so electric, you cant condemn her for it.

What woud you choose? A vampire or a werewolf? hmmmmm difficult choice....

I thoroughly enjoyed the action in this book and found every page an enthralling read. The emotional scenes between Bella and Edward left me with a spine tingling sensation but the one between Bella and Jacob just made me sad.

The characters were really good, the plot was excellant but I would agree with the other reviewers that Bella did come across as whiny, childish and selfish although I must admit that I didn't think that as I read the book itself.

What can I say? A great book, I am starting Breaking Dawn tonight and I will be gutted when the series is at an end.

OK. Twilight was fantastic. New Moon was OK. Eclipse. Pfft. Bella litrally turned psychopath when Jacob kissed her. She gets seriously sadistic and threatens Jacob with Edward. How pathetic. Also, a broken hand, she's not in pain? HOW!?

Bella is the worst book character ever. She is clearly based upon Meyer. She's a childish little girl who needs to grow up. Meyer clearly got all of this from a dream, we can tell. Nothing in reality would go that well for someone after moving to a completely new place but that's Twilight. Eclipse is boring me, nothing has happened and I'm reaching the end of the book. There is constant spelling mistakes and there is a grammer mistakes nearly on every page. This is a poor read. Twilight, fantastic, read it, but stop there because only one little dream of Meyer's can provide for so much. She clearly has rushed her books and the spelling mistakes show. Everyone in the book treats Bella like royalty. She's a whiney, childish little girl who has tantrums and takes it out on those around her.

Don't waste your money. Make up your own ending for Bella and Edward after Twilight.

3 out of 5 stars It's heartbreaking...   August 3, 2008

I've finish reading Twilight and New Moon. Eclipse... hmmm... I can't really give a thought of reading without skipping it. Everytime I read the part, where Bella and Jacob is so very passionate and over friendship sort of relationship, this is where I freak out and skip the page or chapter where I can enjoy Edward/Bella moment is.. I am not a type of reader who is into this sort of theme. Bella is not my cup of tea when it comes to love, she is so immature. Why can't she treat Jacob as her brother, just like brotherly love, not a freaking deep love that you felt the same way as your vampire boyfriend... Well I still like some part of the book. It's not my kind of story but it's worth to try reading it.

4 out of 5 stars Too involved to be objective?   July 30, 2008

I have kept up with these characters, Bella, Edward & Jacob, for three books now and I am finding it hard to find my objectivity these days. Was this book good? Yes, they all are. Could I put `ECLIPSE' down once I picked it up? Absolutely not! But this was not my favorite book in the series.

Now before you all start throwing tomatoes (because I know many people think it is the best thus far), this goes back to my objectivity being compromised. There were so many great aspects of this book, for example, the flash backs as to how the rest of the Cullen's became vampires (loved that!), the history of the Quileute tribe and the story line about the newborns (which, in truth, I had higher hopes for but I liked it overall). But in my head there is a certain outcome that I would prefer for Bella, but by the end of `ECLIPSE' it became pretty clear that what I want and what is actually going to happen are two very different things. It is like watching a good friend make a lot of decisions that you know are really bad. It is frustrating.

Also, Bella was a little hard to deal with in this third book. She was whiney and selfish , in my opinion, quite often I wanted to slap her (smile)! I found her treatment of everyone from Edward to Jacob to Charlie off-putting and I often found myself screaming at the book for Bella to "stop being so selfish!!" Nonetheless, this book is just as engrossing as the rest, that point I cannot deny. I found myself reading 'ECLIPSE' faster than I have ever ready any other 600+ page book before. And I am waiting not-so-patiently on the edge of my seat for the fourth and final book in the Twilight saga `BREAKING DAWN'!
