A Delight to Read!August 8, 2008 A. Hargraves(The Netherlands) This book was given to my son for his first birthday and six months later the popularity of the book just grows. It is my favourite kiddies book and I love reading it to him. Every animal has a different voice and the rhyming style of the book make it fun to read aloud. My toddler loves the illustrations and points out everything on the pages. Story time is fun for both of us!
Fabulous! A must have!October 30, 2007 D. Lee(Germany) This is probably the best children's book around. Even though I read it about a thousand times in the last month alone, it never gets boring. My 17 month old son absolutely adores it and so do my husband and I. This is a must have for every parent. I recommend the "board book" edition so that your little one can turn the pages by himself.
Brilliant - a must have for all kidsMarch 17, 2005 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I read this to my daughter so often that I can almost recite all the words from memory - which comes in handy when trying to keep a wriggling child still enough to change her nappy! Highly recommend - I have just purchased some more books by the same author - including the Gruffalos child. Fantastic!!
The Gruffalo - a book for every child's library!!October 27, 2003 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Absolutely fabulous book for both children and adults alike. My 2-year old son insists on this book being read to him every night. I was a bit wary at first as I thought it would be scary for him - how wrong could I be - he just loves it and so do I - we all get rather carried away with the different voices of the various animals the little mouse visits during his trip through the 'Deep Dark Wood' until he meets the Gruffalo.....
Brilliantly written and wonderfully illustrated - I can thorougly recommend this great rhyming tale to any child (and adult) with imagination!!
Fantasic bedtime story for toddlers and older kids alikeMay 10, 2002 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
My daugher (3) loved this book immediately. It is about a mouse who goes on a journey through the woods and is confronted by 3 animals who all want to eat him and he comes up with a story that he is meeting an imaginary Gruffalo to scare them off. An excellent book for children with rhyming text and wonderful illustrations. I went on to buy a lot more of Julia Donaldson's books and am not dissapointed!
